Last week the hand learned to slide, turn, and flip a tracing-paper figure. This week the language catches up. Your child meets the formal definition of congruence — two figures are congruent when one can be carried onto the other by a sequence of rigid motions — and learns to read the congruence statement triangle ABC congruent to triangle DEF as a careful promise about which vertex matches which. Five worksheets work through corresponding parts, sequences of motions that map one figure onto another, and close with a Main Lesson Book entry of a congruent pair with every matched side and angle marked.
